We are based in Darwin and service towns and communities in the Top End with regular outreach clinics to Katherine.
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, fitting, and repairing prosthetic and orthotic devices. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, ability to learn new technologies around 3D modelling/printing and a commitment to enhancing patient mobility and comfort.
Responsibilities:
Fabricate and repair prosthetic and orthotic devices according to the specifications provided by the prosthetists/orthotists.
Utilise traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, including CAD/CAM systems and 3D printing, to create precise and functional devices.
Perform adjustments and maintenance on prosthetic and orthotic devices to ensure optimal fit and function.
Manage stock and inventory of materials and components, ensuring availability and timely procurement for device fabrication.
Maintain workshop, equipment, tools ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and follow-up for clients.
Keep accurate records of device specifications and client interactions in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician or equivalent experience.
Strong technical skills in the fabrication and assembly of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
